On 27 August 2026, an online meeting was held with our partner university in Ethiopia, Bahir Dar University, to discuss potential areas of bilateral cooperation and strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.

During the meeting, both institutions introduced their universities and provided information about their academic structures, educational activities, and areas of expertise. Representatives from the relevant academic departments also introduced their programmes and shared information about their academic structures and operations.

The meeting focused particularly on potential collaboration opportunities in the field of dual degree programmes. Both institutions agreed to establish working groups to further explore and develop dual degree opportunities, and the necessary arrangements and next steps were discussed.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between Istanbul Gedik University and Bahir Dar University. We look forward to developing productive academic collaborations, particularly in the field of dual degree programmes, and carrying out future joint initiatives between the two institutions.

During a meeting we held with our Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Cem Sefa SÜTCÜ, and the Coordinator of International Relations and Erasmus, Dr. Yücel KAMAR, we conducted a strategic assessment of dual degree programs, Erasmus joint master’s programs, and Erasmus short-term programs in line with our university’s internationalization goals, and and we have initiated the process to take concrete steps in these areas.

Istanbul Gedik University Graduate School of Education has signed a cooperation protocol with the Sakarya Bar Association to support professional development in the field of law.

Under the protocol, lawyers affiliated with the Sakarya Bar Association and Bar Association staff will be eligible for a 30% tuition discount if they enroll in the master's and doctoral programs offered by our Institute.

This cooperation aims to encourage academic studies among professionals working in the field of law, increase their participation in scientific production processes, and support their professional expertise with graduate education. The application processes and discount conditions for the programs will be announced separately by our Institute.

The Istanbul Gedik University Graduate School of Education invites members of the Sakarya Bar Association to take advantage of graduate education opportunities to advance their academic knowledge.

An article by Dr. M. Arif Tuncer, a faculty member at our university, titled “The mediating role of perceived quality in the effect of attitude towards social media influencers on consumers' purchasing decisions: The case of Dubai chocolate” has been published in the Tr Dizin Ulakbim indexed journal “Business & Management Studies: An International Journal.”
