Dear Students, Esteemed Academics, and Respected Stakeholders,
As the Institute of Graduate Education, Istanbul Gedik University, we regard graduate education not merely as a process of specialization, but also as a journey that deepens thinking, connects research with the real problems of life and production, and fosters the ability to learn how to learn.
In today’s world, it is just as important to question, interpret, transform, and adapt knowledge to new conditions as it is to access it. For this reason, our Institute embraces an educational approach that not only provides students with academic knowledge, but also equips them with critical thinking, research competence, an interdisciplinary perspective, and lifelong learning skills, thereby teaching them how to learn. Our aim is to educate individuals who not only adapt to a changing world, but also understand, shape, and contribute to that change.
We consider university-industry collaboration, one of the fundamental priorities of our university, to be an integral part of graduate education processes. We aim to strengthen an approach that encourages project collaborations developed with industrial clusters, production ecosystems, and various sector stakeholders to evolve into master’s and doctoral theses. In this way, we attach importance to graduate studies producing tangible contributions not only to academic literature, but also to social and economic life.
As an Institute, we regard the development of collaborations at both national and international levels, the dissemination of a culture of joint research and projects, and the support of high-quality studies in line with the mission and vision of Istanbul Gedik University among our primary goals. We believe in the universal nature of academic production, and we strive to create a graduate education environment in which our students and academics can establish stronger ties with international networks.
In addition, in line with our university’s vision of innovation and entrepreneurship, we aim to activate graduate education activities within our unit at the Technopark. We believe that this structure, in which knowledge production comes into closer contact with technology, entrepreneurship, and fields of application, will create new opportunities for our students, academics, and sector representatives.
The Institute of Graduate Education will continue to serve as a collaborative ground where knowledge is produced, shared, and transformed into social benefit. In this process, we invite our students, academics, and all stakeholders to learn together, produce together, and create value together.
Yours sincerely
Prof. Dr. Cem Sefa Sütcü
