Program Description
The overall objective of the PhD Program in Business Administration is to provide students with the highest level of theoretical knowledge in the field of management and organization, as well as general knowledge in functional areas of business such as human resources, marketing, finance, and quality management. At the same time, it aims to cultivate individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to understand and apply contemporary research methods that can be used to solve business problems, and who can offer creative and change-oriented solutions to business problems. In addition, it aims to ensure that graduates acquire the ability to effectively convey management and organization topics to their students as potential teaching staff.
In our PhD program, students are provided with education that enables them to increase their theoretical knowledge, evaluate developments in international markets from a global perspective, acquire theoretical and practical basic knowledge, and design and conduct academic research thanks to extensive research methods training. Students who successfully complete the Business Administration doctoral program can find employment as senior managers in public and private sectors, civil society organizations, and similar institutions, or become academics at universities.
Program Structure
The PhD Program in Business Administration consists of a total of 21 credits, including 7 courses and a seminar course, and a thesis study comprising the stages of doctoral qualification, thesis proposal, thesis monitoring, and thesis defense. The stages comprising the seminar course and thesis study are not credited and are graded as either successful or unsuccessful. The duration of the doctoral program is a minimum of eight and a maximum of twelve semesters. The scientific preparation program is not taken into account in the calculation of the duration. Semesters in which the student is not enrolled are included in the maximum duration. There is no “special student” status in doctoral programs. Candidates must meet all minimum requirements at the time of final registration.
Business Administration Special Application Requires
Those who hold a thesis-based master's degree as stipulated in Article 17 of the Istanbul Gedik University Graduate Education and Teaching Regulations.

Notarized copy of bachelor's degree or graduation certificate obtained from e-Government
Original copy of the bachelor's degree transcript, notarized copy, or e-government printout
Notarized copy of Master's degree diploma or e-government graduation certificate
Original Master's Degree Transcript, notarized copy, or e-government printout
Foreign Language Certificate (For application, a minimum score of 55 on the YDS or an equivalent score on exams listed in the YÖK Foreign Language Equivalency Table is required.)
ALES Exam Result (Including the result verification code, covering the last 5 years as of the registration date, with a score of 55 or above in the relevant score type.)
Original and photocopy of identity card
For male applicants, a recent Military Service Status Certificate (documents obtained from e-Government are accepted).

Note: Students who were enrolled in or graduated from non-thesis master's programs before June 2, 2013 may apply to PhD programs.
