Program Description
In recent years, scientific studies in optics, electronics, materials science, and software technologies have led to the development of new generation defense technology products. In our country, the defense industry is constantly developing through scientific studies conducted by the public and private sectors. In order to develop further, there is a need to increase the number of trained human resources who research and use advanced technologies. The Defense Technologies Doctoral Program aims to train highly qualified researchers who can carry out national and international collaborations, keep up with the latest developments in defense technologies, possess the necessary design, manufacturing, analysis, and synthesis skills, generate innovative ideas, and direct R&D projects.
Established to achieve these objectives, the Defense Technologies Doctoral Program conducts its studies with an interdisciplinary approach. Our program offers a wide range of courses that bring together various disciplines enabling research in materials science, electrical and electronic technologies, control systems, submarine technologies, optics, and lasers.
Our graduates have a wide range of career opportunities, including working as design engineers, research and development engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, and quality control engineers in various sectors such as machinery, electrical, electronics, computer, software, and communication, primarily in industrial organizations. Program graduates can also work in public and private institutions and organizations such as the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Industry Presidency, as well as universities.
Program Structure
The Defense Technologies Doctorate Program consists of a total of 21 credits, including 7 courses and a seminar course, and a thesis study that includes the stages of doctoral qualification, thesis proposal, thesis monitoring, and thesis defense. The stages that include the seminar course and thesis study are not credited and are graded as either successful or unsuccessful. The duration of the doctoral program is a minimum of eight and a maximum of twelve semesters. The scientific preparation program is not considered in the calculation of the duration. Semesters in which the student is not enrolled are included in the maximum duration. There is no “special student” status in doctoral programs. Candidates must meet all minimum requirements at the time of final registration.
