The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Master's Program with Thesis is a postgraduate program that aims to enable undergraduate physiotherapists to learn specialized physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches at international standards, acquire a scientific research culture, make evidence-based decisions in clinical practice, and achieve advanced professional qualifications through specialization in the field. The program aims to train physiotherapists who embrace

scientific and ethical values, possess a developed research identity, possess innovative thinking, and are capable of assuming leading roles in the clinical and academic worlds in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

In parallel with developments in the health sector in our country, the importance of the physiotherapy profession is increasing daily. As is the case globally, the increasing burden of chronic diseases, sedentary lifestyles, obesity, and numerous health problems, such as orthopedic and neurological disorders, are increasing the need for physiotherapy services in Turkey.

Furthermore, our country's population is rapidly aging, and according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, one in four people is expected to be over 65 by 2080. This demographic shift is increasing the need for physiotherapists specializing in geriatrics. Promoting healthy aging, preventing age-related functional limitations, and improving the quality of life of older adults are all possible through the contributions of physiotherapists.

In conclusion, this program is a strategic postgraduate education program that should be opened to fill the need for specialist physiotherapists needed by both the healthcare system and the academic world, to support the professional development of physiotherapists, and to encourage scientific production in the field of physiotherapy in our country.
